WRO® 2023 - CONNECTING THE WORLD

Welcome to World Robot Olympiad (WRO®) Australia, the newest alternative for Australian students wanting to participate in a world-class robotics competition.

WRO® offers Australian students with a fresh, dynamic competition that will not only challenge them but will motivate them to show what they can do on the world stage.

At WRO® it is our mission to give as many young people all the opportunity to develop their creativity and problem solving skills in a fun and engaging way.
Each season we have a new theme and we have challenges that are tailored to the age of the participants, starting as low as 8 up to 19 years old.

The WRO® theme for 2023 is Connecting the World. Teams will learn about shipping logistics and about the infrastructure for our digital technology. They will investigate how robots can help both shipping and digital technology infrastructure to be more safe, more sustainable and more efficient.

The WRO Australia website is currently being updated to reflect the 2023 season.

Me & My Robot

Robotics is something every child can - and should - learn to develop skills that employers are already prizing. That is the mission of World Robot Olympiad™: to introduce children and youth to STEM through fun robotics competitions. In a new documentary presented by Juniper Networks and executive producer James Redford, young people share how robotics has changed their lives.

The documentary ME & MY ROBOT premiered at the opening ceremony of WRO 2019 in Györ, Hungary.

The documentary follows 18 teams from 10 different countries who are participating in World Robot Olympiad. We see their trials and tribulations as they head to Thailand for the 2018 final. Why is it important? Because these kids use the common language of engineering to tackle the world’s most complex problems.

The documentary premieres November 8 during the international final in Hungary, and will be part of a campaign to inspire students to explore their interest in STEM.

The documentary is a collaboration between WRO and Premium Partner Juniper Networks, and presented by Juniper Networks and executive producer James Redford. To increase the impact of the film, it will be part of a campaign to inspire students to explore their interest in STEM. For more information about the documentary visit http://meandmyrobotfilm.com/ .
